My name is Heather Fernandes and I am freelance Graphic Designer, Social Media Manager, Website Designer, Certified Google Adwords, Digital Marketing Consultant. I have a real passion for working with small businesses and non-profits – helping them to brand and connect them to their customers through strategic marketing.
To show my support for this part of the community, I annually donate a complete soup-to-nuts marketing package to a group that is making a difference in their sphere of influence. I am thrilled to give back to the community, assisting those who do so much to assist others. Some Background Growing up in New Hampshire, I received my Associates degree in Communications from Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner, MA. I started working with a small communications company in Peterborough, NH and quickly knew that this was what I was suppose to do. I also began volunteering at the Peterborough Recreation Department as a youth soccer coach and offered to help answer phones one busy day and that was the day I fell in love with everything recreation. There is so much that goes into developing a recreation program and I soon found myself coordinating fitness programs, soccer camps, hiking trips and ski trips and used my marketing skills to market the programs we were offering as well as design, hire and manage the program. Within the recreation industry, I’ve developed expertise in the areas of development, community relations, project management, marketing, teaching and budgeting. I’ve served as Vice President of the New Hampshire Recreation and Park Association as well as designed their logo. After leaving the Recreation field to start a family in Middleboro, MA, I built Heather Fernandes Marketing – a full-service digital marketing company. I serve both small business and non-profit organizations, across all kinds of markets, with a focus on nurturing brand authenticity through modern marketing.
